Wow, amazing...
This weekend was absolutely incredible. I tried really hard to make this a great weekend and it's so awesome to have such a great turnout. You were all amazing. The laughs, singing, and prize giving went really well. I have to thank all of our sponsors for being so generous. I also have to congratulate Jennie on winning the BIG prize - the Bobunny couture bag and all the goodies. Also, to Patty for winning the card challenge - great card!!! Oh, and the classes were just amazing - Vicki was absolutely incredible and has just taken sw florida by storm. We actually filled every single class and more. We don't have a single extra kit lying around. The amount of techniques she can pack into one class was just incredible. I think every single person left learning a few new tricks. Just amazing how one person can be so knowledgeable and informative. But, that's not even all of it - she has a super great personality and just sucks you in - you can talk for hours and feel like you've known her all your life - like a long lost best friend. But, the best had to be listening to her sing I like big butts from Sir Mix-a-lot. Hilarious
So, what is a girl to do because once a year is not enough - well have I got a plan in mind. Keep checking our blog for the details but mark your calendar. This November 13th and 14th we are planning a HUGE BLOWOUT CROP to celebrate my 40th birthday but that's not all we are also planning a designer event like no other. MORE DETAILS COMING SOON. You don't want to miss this!!!

Yum, yum, yum
Okay, there are so many pretties back here - that I might not get anything done today - I want to sit and keep scrappin'. But, to work I must go - don't you all want it to look pretty in here??? I know that I am excited about it. I spent the night working on sketches for the store - so although we won't be able to move into the new space before tomorrow the old store is going to look very different - a minor face lift before we go. I guess I am a little ADHD - I get bored with the look and need to start all over again - so it should be interesting what I wind up with. Don't forget to come check it out.
Please note we have special hours this week:
Thursday - 9 am to 4 pm
Friday - 3 PM to 11 PM !!!
Saturday - 10 am to 10 pm
Sunday - 11 am to 6 pm
We still have room for Sunday's crop, so if you are interested - get back to me and I will make sure that I put your kit together. We are completely full for Friday and have 1 space for Saturday - last minute cancellation - so if you want in make sure that you call with cc info to reserve your spot.

Designer Mojo...
Yesterday afternoon was our very first designer crop event. All 7 ladies plus myself(unfortunately Sharon had a family emergency and couldn't make it after all) scheduled our very first sample palooza and that is what we got. I am so excited for everyone to see the incredible samples that they did. It was a marathon - the diehards left at almost 12:30. Can you believe that?
We got all of these done:
Jen E 2 + one that needs photo
Renee 3 + 2 pager she is finishing up tonight
Jen S 6 + one that needs photo
Ines 6
Kellie 6
Rebecca 7
Dee 8
that's over 40 layouts if you count the photoless. Plus, we shared some of the BRAND NEW THICKERS that are arriving today for Fridays crop and you would not believe how many titles the ladies made with the same alphabet pack. We even did layouts with each other's scraps. I did most of my layouts from scraps the girls had left from their samples. I love when I can get something done with the scraps. Athough all of the samples are not made from paper that we have right now for the crop - we do have most of it and all the thickers we used. The paper we don't have we expect within the next couple of weeks. So, be on the lookout for all the new stuff that will be arriving almost daily. Also, don't forget we are not opening till 3 pm on Friday - I have to pick up Vicki at the airport and we have some last minute details to finish up here.
Finally, I am expecting some more goodies to arrive today - I will update after ups man comes to vist - which is after 11 am. He is really not going to like me today - I think the box from American Crafts alone is 60 pounds!!! Oops, almost forgot I was told Prima sent a second goodie box - scheduled to arrive Friday - but with their crappy service I won't believe it until I see it. Keep your fingers crossed if it arrives it should be a good one.

Dreams...
Yep, my husband thinks I am dreaming.
I have a dream I scream out...you have a fantasy my husband says...are you rich??? NO, i answer back...but I have you. My husband smiles and kisses me.
That was our discussion after he saw the "NEW SPACE" - he thinks like always that I am completely insane but I see it. I totally and completely see my new dream happening. Okay, the space is bigger but that's all it has going for it - it is a total mess - hence the address is still a secret because it would scare some of you away - but in my vision it is a whole different place with great shelves and lighting and awesome walls and displays - oh and so much more but apparently my husband thinks that this can only happen in my mind. But I disagree - so it might not be 100% what I want by Friday but it will still be a good solid beginning for our new space and it will be awesome for everyone else. And the dream continues - so as expected the sales will continue - I need to make money for all these changes so come in and check it out and help in your own way to make this dream come true - plus the deals are great - look out for the email. We REALLY don't want to carry anything over there...

I am exhausted, excited, thrilled, exhillarated, amazed, and so much more.
Although the show was smaller than past years - about half the size - just seeing the incredible samples was amazing. I love looking at samples - some of these companies have the best designers in the world. It is amazing how then can turn a piece of paper into a work of art.
Random Thoughts

Just a couple more weeks to CHA...
Yep, in just a couple of weeks this summer's CHA will begin in Orlando. CHA is just one of those events that is like riding a rollercoaster...you are excited, thrilled, disappointed, shocked, amazed, exhausted, flabbergasted, hungry, psyched, and the list goes on...because you get to see some of the most amazing people, product, layouts, and sights. It is just a different world, kind of like walking into Dee's after a prima delivery...what's here? where is it? let me touch it? must have it...
As the purchaser for the store twice a year I get to see it first, touch it, play with it, ooh la la. I live for those moments - and knowing how cosmic the experience is - I always aim to give all of you, as consumers, the same experience everytime you come in - I am often razzed about all the new product - but I don't only do it for me but I do it for all of you. Today, I had a customer from the other coast come in and as she walked around the room amazed at the amount of product in the store - quickly calling up one of her gal pals and babbling off all her finds I smiled, I giggled under my breath - because I could feel her joy, her excitement, it brought me back to why I do it. Those moments remind me that preserving my memories is SO worth it and when I look over at my kids I know that it is SO worth it.
So, for those of you suffering with scrapper's blog remember that...remember that it is so worth it. Push through it and no it doesn't have to be perfect. It has to be done and in the doing you will feel the release and find your mojo and if ever in doubt come in and walk the aisle and find the pretties or just wait till tuesday and pick up all the pretties from Prima that are coming in...that can get anyone going and if you are still not sure, just check out all the layouts I have gotten done with the pretties...oh la la.
So worth it!

YUCK!!!
Prima order where are thou...
As always, I called them again to find out what was happening with my order and they didn't even have it...supposedly adam is "on the road" so then they found the order and they were going to put it together and get back to me today. It is 8:10 and I just called them for the 3rd time leaving messages that will not be returned today. Yuck. But, the October Afternoon order is here and gorgeous I actually got 7 layouts done with it this weekend. Tomorrow we have an open crop from 9 to 4 so stop by and hang out and check out what I got done. I have been a stickles hooch lately.
So, hopefully Prima will ship tomorrow. If I get a final confirmation I will take preorders this week - remember that their product just flies out the store. Unbelievable. If I am able to stay late tomorrow I will post it here for those of your late birds.
I have extended the 50% OFF sale until wednesday because of the confusion with us closing early on sat and not opening on sunday.
See you all soon,
dee

Listening to kids talk...
I am certain that I had an out of body experience yesterday. I sat down to have a late lunch with my kiddos and I swear I must not have been in the room, because of the conversation that transpired. They are my children - I bore them technically - maybe they were switched at the hospital. I don't know, but you definetely begin to wonder when you feel like I did. Are they only 11, 9, and 7. They were retelling their experiences at the water park the day before. I felt like I was sitting in a room with adults (which never happens when my kids are here). They were taking turns, and laughing about it all, friendly, active listening. It was scary. For a minute, okay 20 seconds, I was so proud of them - my constant nagging had had an effect. And then, my son blurted out that my beautiful, angelic, little princess had actually used my precious, priceless, invaluable cutter bee scissors to cut the skin off her orange. Yep, can you believe it? She used it to cut her orange...who's child is she??? what was i thinking??? them growing up??? my nagging working???
HaHAhaaaaaa....
Goes to show you no matter what you do sometimes they still come out crazy and to think she was a c-section OMG.
So, my challenge to you is to sit down and really listen to your kids, grandkids, etc. talk and then laugh because they really are darn funny. Who knows, maybe it can even be a title for your next layout or a perfect photo op.
Laugh OFTEN!

P.S. We have had a cancellation and we now have 3 spots available for all 3 days. Don't miss out.

Sure, we will still use a few flowers and bling but then we will jump outside of the box and create interesting embellishments using cardboard and chipboard with paint, foil, glitter and stamps. Oh! And how about a few fun uses for Glitter Mists! We will be focusing on all new techniques with really fun outcomes!! I can’t wait to share some of the art inspired ideas I have been working on! This class is sure to bring the inner artist out in all who attend!
Materials required: paper trimmer, pencil, ruler, craft knife, cutting mat, wet and dry adhesive, black pen, fine tip scissors, black and brown ink pad, baby wipes, acrylic blocks, foam squares.
Class Duration: 3 hrs

Can it be done...
can I hide out on blogger???
I have been up and hiding in my room for over an hour - (yes - I got to sleep late since I didn't go to bed till 2 am)and read my emails private and business, checked the accts, placed an order or two, and organized the over 100 photos I printed last night (hey - I was already up), you know the usual and I really want to scrap but I'm hungry - starving for that matter - but do I venture into the unknown??? Dare I walk where no other woman has walked before - my living room with the "crazy family"???
I love meeting people, talking to people, scrappin with people - but when those "people" are family that was inherited and not chosen I really lose my patience - my 20 year old said to me yesterday - "I have never heard so many stupid questions in my life" - yes this may be true but they are mostly florida questions like why does the water in my mom's new house smell???- anyone got a well??? but others are just things we assume people should know. Yet, it doesn't seem like they do - it's kind of who's on first with the 3 stooges - remember that - I feel like we are just repeating ourselves all day talking in circles...I love them to death but are we really related??? It goes to show you that children can be raised in the same household and be completely different.
Yet, across the generations we still find things that connect us to each other and it goes both ways - Last night, we took my aunt and her kids and my grandma to red lobster (My grandma's favorite - she could eat their everyday - every meal - me too) cool we had fun reminiscing our old childhood etc but then we went to Starbucks and they asked for a coffee okay how do you want it? sweet and with hazelnut (mind you I don't drink coffee I have never bought coffeee at starbucks - I am a strawberries and creme frappaccino girl (yum). I order the coffee and I get this hot huge container that I take to the car (no one who wanted coffee wanted to get out of the car to check the coffee out). They taste the coffee screaming it's black and it's not sweet - okay did you hear milk in the order - no??? did I put sugar??? no, I am not a coffee person - if you want milk aren't you supposed to tell me that??? plus I told the sales girl very sweet and she never ever said the sugar is behind you please help yourself - I assumed I told her sweet that she would make it sweet - I had to go in for milk - I had to go back in for sugar, I had to go back to throw out the trash from the coffee fiasco -omg - why did I ask if anyone wanted anything???? why oh why??? But, it goes to show you they assumed I knew about the milk - why would I know that? my mom drinks black coffee and that's her sister and mom I figured they must drink it black too since I didn't hear the words "milk", "half and half" , etc. See what assuming does... So the street goes both ways now - I guess I need to get out there and face the world...can't hide out in blogger all day long (darn it).
On a lighter note, today is Rebecca's birhtday - Happy Birthday Rebecca -WE LOVE YOU!!!
Finally, on the scrapping front - we still have some basic grey lemonade left (some of it is gone - sorry) so make sure you get in early next week to get your hands on it - also we still have some prima flowers and because they are nuts we got doubles of some stuff okay maybe I am nuts I liked some stuff so much that I reordered it without realizing it was on my back orders which shipped with it. SO, those of you who couldn't make it this week - you are in luck we've still got some good stuff left - so hurry in before it's all gone. Next week, we will continue our summer hours Tuesday-Thursday 9 till 4 and this Friday is our challenge party so it's 9 to 7and Saturday is 11 to 4. Tell us what you think of these times - are they good??? what sucks about them???
Finally, for real this time, don't forget our theme crop is this saturday coming...we are still taking names!

If were a star wars fan...
i would have run in to pick up that star wars paper - my fav is the blue foil name paper - it's gorgeous -it's too bad it's not trekkie paper - because I would have been all over it - it's cool. All the papers are foil. I am going to have to get one of my kids into star wars so that I can use the paper. LOL.
The new fancy pants paper is out and on the floor as well as the star wars and tomorrow we will be getting a whole bunch of new stuff including the basic grey lemonade and let me tell you it's gorgeous - I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on it. The doilies, the felt, the dimension and it's pink - oh my. I need to start printing my recent girly photos. And if you've ever been to NYC or New Orleans have I got the paper for you - it will be arriving tomorrow - awesome!
Then, of course there is Thursday the day that PRIMA arrives - i will really try to keep my grubby little hands off of it until you all come in - NOT - you'd better hurry lots of pre orders and then there's me -- theres no telling what will happen- especially since mom is on the way - you guys know how she shops - worse then me.
On the home front my aunt is here already with my cousin and my goddaughter. My mom is due sometime tonight - she left nyc at midnight. As of 6 she was in Georgia. If traffic stays the same she will be here before midnight. My sister arrives tomorrow at 9 am and the mayhem begins.
Don't forget we are closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Wow, I don't what I am going to do with myself with such a free block of time - it's amazing. I know I need to sleep late at least one day this week - because these middle of the night arrivals are doing me in or I might need to put myself down for a nap - aaahhhh a nap.
Well, I'd better go I am working with the CI glitter paper finally and I want to finish before my natives get restless.

TGIF
TGIF, TGIF!!!
Yep, it is Friday and that means family night this week (no crop). I am trying to get my dh to agree to go out to dinner and to see transformers. Anyone see it yet - supposed to be awesome. If my plan goes through - it should be awesome. There are so many new movies out - I could probably go to the movies everyday and still not see all of them - who can afford that though?
Well, it seems like we've got another sponsor as soon as I confirm today I will post it and you are going to LOVE this one - one of my favorites!
Write soon,
Dee
P.S. We still have a little room left tomorrow - 3 spots - so call if you want in.
Remember we will be open till 11 pm tomorrow so even if you can't make the crop you can take advantage of the sale during those hours.

Almost there!
I am so excited I was up late last night but my class is done. I am done...I think. I am waiting for the instructor to submit a grade for the last assignment and then it's over. I have a 100% average right now so we will have to wait and see if I bombed it...
On the other hand- today is the day our his/her kit paper arrives. I really like this one - okay - yes I know I really like all of them - but I can't wait for it to get here so I can play with it. Saturday is going to be a lot of fun - we've got 12 people signed up so I know that I will have a ball - might not get anything done but it should be a lot of fun. Oh yeah! Then, Sunday is our Mommy and Me crop and we have 8 of us. We have room for two more - so if you are interested it's noon to 5 let me know.

I always have a bout of mojo when school ends - it's like I have so much extra free time that I can just whip stuff together. Oh yeah. If only my online class would be over - this is the last week and then it's on to greener pastures. I was going to take another class this summer - but I've changed my mind - this 7 week advanced course burnt me out. I am exhausted. I know it sounds crazy - but we have had assignments due daily. This is just too much and I take on a lot. So, for me to say that you know it's bad. Well, I'd better go - I have some scrappin mojo to use up. Maybe I will hit 300 this week. My family arrives next week so I am sh-t out of luck then. Go, mojo, go.

Our Little Prima Superstar...
I am so proud to announce that Ines, the store designer, was chosen as Prima's Guest Designer this month. Yes, for her specialty double page layouts - she actually did 4 of them. Two will be posted at the store tomorrow - for you all to fawn over - we have the items to do both of them. All four are posted on the prima blog. You can check it out at http://prima.typepad.com/ under the June 19th entry. Let me tell you - my favorite one has to be the wedding layout "because" but the photo does not do it justice! Ines if you drop this one off I will post it at the store as well. It is just beautiful. Some of the items we did have in stock at one time but I am taking pre-orders. So, if you want any of it - let me know! Check it out!
Way to go Ines!!!
We are so proud of you!!!

Oops, I did it again...
When I sat down yesterday I had all the intentions in the world to play with that gorgeous Mango Luau and had some photos for it. But, on Saturday I printed 140 new photos and when I actually sat down to scrap I wanted to play with those - so I actually had a Jenni Bowlin day. I got 6 layouts done with it. I know I'm like that. My photos just took me somewhere else.
I think that's what keeps my mojo going - that I just go with the flow - there are no rules - it's about having fun. If I was being pressured into my scrappin' - I probably wouldn't get anything done. I had someone in here on Tuesday who scraps like me - to unwind. Really that's what it's about for me. During the school year I take on a huge responsibility with each new class - new issues, new families, new kids, new problems, new expectations. This is stressful. I am responsible for making sure that these kids, no matter what, succeed on those pesky little test at the end of the year and my kids do it. But, it takes an unimaginable amount of work to get them there. I scrap almost every night to bring down from it, to calm me down, and sometimes to think through the issues and come up with new solutions. So, sometimes my layouts are a little crooked, or don't look like what I had imagined, or are just missing something - but that's okay because at the end of the sesssion, I am once again whole, back to my self, feeling relax, and just plain being me.
So, imagine my relief at being done with school especially after the fantastic scores we got. Last year, the first week after school finished I got like 50 layouts done - I am definetely chipping away at that - I might even beat this record. Our paper is so much prettier than last year. Not that last year's was bad - just it keeps getting better.
Well, I'd better go, let's see if actually get to the Mango Luau today - so many choices.

A new love....
Bo-bunny. I know it doesn't really count - it's always been a love of mine, but the two new collections from Bo-bunny are awesome. We used the calypso for our summer crop so some of that is already limited and the Mango Luau is just awesome. I am going to be playing with paper today - so if you get a chance to stop by come see what I've done with it. I have 5 layouts with the calypso and another two-pager in my head. Then it's off to the Mango Luau and the little boardshorts and flipflops on the paper - I have some cutting out ideas. Plus, I still have some traveler to play with. Oh and the new Old Guys Cruise paper with the motorcycle is a must have for father's day. Oh and the glitter diecut paper from CI is gorgeous. I have an idea for that. How many hours are there in a day. There is also the huge possibility that I will be working late today - hubby has a job he has to finish today.
Well, I'd better go I have a whole bunch of names to add to the email list - it's awesome that new people find us everyday. I had someone tell me yesterday that I have the best selection of paper around...it feels good to hear that. I really try to bring in new, fresh, and exciting stuff every week. It's nice to hear that it is appreciated. Plus, I get to get my grubby little fingers on it. Woohoo! Well, I'd better go. I've got work to do.

How sad...
it truly is. The last day of school is always bitter sweet. I love that the year is over and that I will have some time off. But, I think of the kids and the parents and the year as a whole and I miss them already. Last night I stayed up till almost 2 working on two minialbums for my super mom volunteers. As I looked at the pictures I laughed as I remembered the silly or funny things they said and did. I had a wild and crazy bunch this year but I would not trade them for anything. They finally got themselves together and made me proud.
When I gave my Super Mom of the year her minialbum she burst into tears making me tear up. Although she speaks very little English you would not believe how strong a helper she was all year - the kids respected and listened to her. They even did as she said - even when she spoke to them in Spanish. So this is a shout out to all the mothers that besides giving up their lives to be there for their children they also find time to come into the classroom and make it just a little bit easier on us. Thank you for cutting out all the eggs for the easter baskets, for drawing flowers for the kids to color in for mother's day, for spending hours reading AR Books to them, for donating candy for the party, fruits for snack, supplies for assignments. Whether you are a stay at home mom or a career gal - mother's are the unsung heroes. Although Mother's Day is long gone we should get over that and make ever day a special day for your mom. After all, doesn't she do that for you?
Celebrate the Mothers that you are...live freer, laugh louder, breathe deeper, dance slower, scrap you... be mom!

oh my gosh...
I didn't realize that it's been so long since I blogged. It's weird how time just flies by. This week will be no different. School ends this week, which means we will have 2 billion administrative things to do before we are done on Thursday. OH my! Plus, my ESOL class will be accelerated once school ends from weekly assignments to daily assignments - I tried to go ahead but at this pace I am only 1 day ahead. OH my! So, I've been a little nuts.
But, on the other hand I got a chance to scrap today - OH my! I actually got to work with some of the new jillibean soup - love the journaling blocks - they are really cute for cards too. I also had a sassafras thing going today. Sassafras is not one of those papers to be taken lightly. It's busy and can be hard to work with if you don't have a plan. But, it is so much fun when you do get a feather in your cap. Today, I got a feather in my cap about Sassafras. I have loved them for so long and they just keep reinventing themselves and coming up with such new and innovative stuff. I loved them since I opened the door at dee's. I loved them before the funky edges and the stitched blossoms. I loved them before most people knew they existed. For some reason, like Bo-bunny and Fancy Pants I really get them - it feeds my funky side. I know it sounds kind of crazy but it's true. I love scrappin and all that it involves - funky paper for when I'm feeling funky, fun paper for when I'm feeling like fun, bright and bold when I am feeling bright and bold. I love the way that my layouts reflect who I am and what I feel. So, today I'm funky. Yep, funky. But never fear tomorrow is another day and I will be something else - maybe it will be silly or fun or smart but it will be me. I love the possibilities. Don't you???

I'm not feeling well...
I have run myself ragged and gotten sick again. This year has been an expecially sickly year. But, never fear the end of the year is almost here. Oh yeah - really I am counting. And guess what if I have all my things set - I can skip the last day and use my flex time - from all the courses I am taking.
Actually, I am very excited about the course I am taking now - I did a mini research on chinese culture and the instructor emailed me to tell me that she wanted to include mine in a mini-packet she was creating for the class. Oh yeah. I rock.
I also got to scrap a little and I have been ordering again. I am also very excited about the next crop. I love summer (and chocolate of course).
But, this year it's bitter sweet. My child is graduating from 5th grade - I know big deal. But for those of you who know me, you know I am a sap. I am naturally sappy - a crier at heart. My baby is going to middle school. Yeah, I still have 2 in elementary but she is going to middle school. I know it's just next door - I can literally walk over anytime I want - but it's the fact that she has hit another milestone. Kindergarten was easy, turning 1 was easy - this - not so much. This is just the beg of the rest. Pretty soon she will be crazy over some boy and her body will change drastically, teenagerism is just around the corner. Pray for me I am going to need it.
For the next few months I am safe - so share in the love!
Well, I'm headed towards my bed - maybe I will get inspired in the middle of the night and scrap. For now the laundry will have to be my creative outlet. Would a red sock really mess up my bras??? LOL.

Wow, that was fast
OMG!!!
I can't believe how fast this week went by. It is Saturday all over again. I wish I could say that I was busy scrappin all week. But, I haven't. THIS has been the busiest week I've had all year. Since Monday, my life has not been my own. You know, those pesky little kids are into everything. Tuesday - I worked late - the end of the school year is nuts. Wednesday I had to actually wash some dishes - why do I have a 20 year old at home? Just kiddin Albert. But, once I cooked dinner, got a couple of loads done and folded, HELPED Nikolas with his homework, it was time to put the kids to bed. Another day shot. Then, Thursday was the Talent Show - my girls are Alva cheerleaders - oh yeah! Then, Friday was Career Day - I had 30 minute sessions with various classes. The funny thing is the boys really got into it. In every single group except my own class - the boys were the last ones to leave. Why??? I figure it gives them a chance to be creative and not be stigmatized about "girly scrappin." They have to do it - it's Career Day. I actually had a 5th grade male student - who I had several years back in my class tell me that he still has the journaling book that I gave him years ago. Every year I give my kids a scrapbooking journal to work on over the summer. It meant so much to me to know that he kept it - not his mom or grandma - he kept it. Are boys becoming more sensitive??? Well he certainly made me feel good.
Then, we had a good crop last night - lots of talking but no real scrappin done. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day. A croppin day. Yep, tomorrow we have another crop from noon to 5. The store is open so come in and shop or hang around with us. I will be croppin'. We still have room.
Well, before I go, here is my count:
LO 218/219 Field Day 06 (1-2 split)

LO 221 My boy w/ basic grey
LO 222/223 You're the coolest friends

I can't believe how fast this week went by. It is Saturday all over again. I wish I could say that I was busy scrappin all week. But, I haven't. THIS has been the busiest week I've had all year. Since Monday, my life has not been my own. You know, those pesky little kids are into everything. Tuesday - I worked late - the end of the school year is nuts. Wednesday I had to actually wash some dishes - why do I have a 20 year old at home? Just kiddin Albert. just a quick little note
I did get some stuff done this weekend - but, you'll have to wait until tomorrow for count.
I am just trying to scare Heather - is it working???
Tons of new stuff coming in the next couple of weeks - the sepia collection is gorgeous and so is the south seas (and half of it is double sided- the others are foiled - aahh) the palm tree page is my favorite. I have big plans for all the new stuff. I'm hoping to have atleast 10 new layouts by the end of the week - hoping. Plus, I need to get my homework done early this week - can't do it Saturday. But, so far so good. I have even gotten back positive comments from my instructor and perfect 20 scores!!!
Sometimes I wonder how I get it done. But, where there is a will there is a way.
Write soon,
Dee
P.S. Sometimes it doesn't get done - and that's okay too (I am trying not to be such an A).

It's here...
Yep, the damn Prima is here!
Unbelievable - but it might not be everything I ordered - but we did get the paper that Prima promised me for the NSD crop.
Everyone who came to the NSD crop - please make sure to stop by the store and pick up 3 sheets of your choice from the Signs of Spring Collection - that's right your choice. Most of the canvas stuff made it here. It's our featured product - 20% off all the canvas stuff - but we all loved it so much that several of us are working on projects to show off on Friday - so come in and check out the new product and see the awesome projects - mine won't be in till later in the evening but it will be damn cute - I've got an idea in my head!!!
Well, I'd better go. Lions club is meeting today so I have an evening of scrappin in front of me. Oh yeah - I am once again bo-bunny inspired. I found some 3 year old photo it just went perfect with - oh yeah.
Let's see what else I get done - my 9 year old is working on a gorilla for school project - which means I'm working on a gorilla and becoming more patient - LOL.
Well, the gorilla awaits.

Woo hoo
Yep, I am celebrating. I love it when a plan comes together. All year I have worked like a dog to get my kids where they are supposed to be. So, you wouldn't believe how sweet it is to get their grades this week. It is awesome. I have a 100% pass rate. Yep every single child in my class either got a meets or an exceeds. Actually 15 of my 18 kids got an exceeds. Eighty three percent of my kids got the highest level possible. I am so proud of them and the parents and the school. Because school is a team effort - it really is. You need to work at it - you need the support of the parents and the administration, other teachers, and most of all the children. The kids worked so hard. They really worked hard at everything and they wore me down. There were days I was sure I was talking to the wall. But they pulled it off -so those classes helped and all the professional development and all of you - my support staff. Because I put it out there and you guys listen and just pat me in the back. I always have funny stories or crazy stories about my class and you guys just let me ramble. Believe me I am so grateful - because it gave me a chance to get it out and work through it. So, thank you one an all. We did a great job! Oh yeah!

I love looking at the goodies
Really,
I just don't know what it is. everytime we get in some new stuff I just have to use it right away...I can't wait until I have the right photos or what theme I am going to use. I just need to use it. Yep, I am one of those backwards scrappers. I create layouts and then I find pictures that go and so on. Really, I am not kidding. I do it backwards and as many of you have mocked me I have gotten a tough skin on the topic. But, what really makes it worthwhile is when someone else tries it and it works.
Really it does.
But, you need some basic guidelines to do something like this.
For example, you have to have tons of photos. See, for a person like me who has 1000's of photos - you are always bound to have a photo that matches - believe it - I have scrapped 10 year old photos this year - it works.
Another neccessity is being an embellishment Ho-ar. Why you ask? Because you are guaranteed to have stuff that matches in your stash - and isn't the goal to use up your old stuff so you can get new stuff???
Another thing is that you have to invest in alphabets. You wouldn't believe how many layouts get their finishing touch from the perfect alphabet - but you have to be wise about your stash - using them and then forgetting about them is not "getting your money's worth". You must learn ways to alter letters so that you can get more for your money - like using an h as an r or f as a t - of course depending on the font. Another tried and true way to use up that alphabet is to create altered alphabet titles. You have it in you stash so get the most out of it. If it's not in your stash - thickers are a great investment and if you are on a budget just use the coupons on them. I get so much from thickers - the textures, the sizes, the colors. Doodlebug alphabet stickers are also a great investment - they are awesome and at a 1.99 very reasonable.
Once you've got your stash in front of you, find a great sketch - check out http://www.pagemaps.com/ site from Becky Fleck. It's awesome. Then, create your layout. Finally, find some photos that match. While you are at it pull out some photos that call out to you and make a favorite photos layouts - no time wasted and two ideas are down in just a short amount of time.
Try it out and let me know if you still think I'm crazy.

I hit 200...
Happy Mother's Day!!!
I am so excited - I really had the best Mother's Day EVER!!!
Every year I give my husband hints for months before Mother's Day of what I want and every year my husband doesn't get it or rather "tries his best".
But, this year he actually hit most of my wishes right on the nose. For example, I got paper and ink for my new printer - so, hello - I will have 140 new photos to crop this weekend - oh yeah.
Then, I got an itunes card - music - oh yeah. I got a whole bunch of new tops which is great because he bought me 6 new pairs of pants a couple of weeks ago. But, enough about me...okay one more - my husband did my favorite thing - a seafood barbecue. I love lobster, crab legs, and shrimp on the barbie. You should see what I ate. ..it was sinful.
But, I digress.
I am here to claim my 200 chip. I actually passed it. But, I had to. Tomorrow my next ESOL class starts so I will have a lot less time to just chill. So, I just scrapped the evening away...
Here's the count:

I did it...
sometimes the best laid out plans don't work out. But for once, I actually had time to do what I wanted. I actually finished 3 double page layouts so I have to update my count - I am already on book 4 so I know I have to be around 180. Wow, I am almost half way there. I might get 500 done this year - wouldn't that be amazing. But, you know what is more amazing about it, its that the more stuff I use the more new stuff I can get. Really, it's true. The more I scrap the more room I have for new stuff. Really, that's my excuse I use it - I use it all. For example the new Prima flowers - well I've already got several layouts done with them - it's true. I'm like those people that get something new and they must wear it right away but with scrappin stuff - I just can't contain myself. But, I use it - that's the important thing. I know us scrappers tend to be collectors but with all the crops we have - especially the free ones -there is no reason why you can't get it done. Git 'er done!!!
Believe me I know that life is complicated and busy and just crazy but that is life. If I didn't scrap I think I would be crazy. For some reason it grounds me - it brings me back to reality - all my problems find solutions, and all that jazz. It's weird but if anyone asked me what helps me relax I would have to say things like scrappin with my kids or my friends or just reading a good book (usually a Nora Roberts or scrapbooking magazine lol). Naps are good but most times I don't get a solution to my problem through a nap - sometimes I actually feel more exhausted and that's not good.
So, skip the nap, you can sleep tomorrow and git 'er done.
Write soon,
Dee
P.S. Don't forget our punch of the month is now available and the challenge kit will be available tomorrow night as well as our his and her kits and the double stuff. OH yeah - I am so psyched to get more NEW stuff - git 'er done.
P.P.S. I will be taking Prima Preorders tomorrow from 5 to 7 and all day Saturday - so don't forget to stop by. Git 'er done.

Guess What
I actually have time to scrap this week - so as soon as I get off this blog I am hitting the scrappin road. Yep, I usually manage to get some scrappin in between life anywhere from 3-10 layouts a week. But, this week I had my PDP or IPDP and orders to place, kits to create, etc. I just knew I wouldn't get any ME time. But, guess what it's over and done with and it's really me time. The kids will be here in a few minutes and I will feed them, talk to them, pretend I like them - you know the usual.
Then, before I know it the chicken wings will be in bed and it will be MMMMMEEEEEE time. Wow, I really needed that. I have all these prima flowers calling me and asking me to use them and believe I am so happy to oblige. Although I really, really, really, can't stand Prima - their stuff is amazing and wait till you see what else is coming.
Also, I found a new little company - as you all know those are my favorites - support all your local small businesses - that I'm getting in.
And of course some old favorites - CI - more fantastic CI!!!
Basic Grey bling
Awesome Crate Paper
NEW Webster's Pages
oh my gosh I think I am drooling.
Another thing that has me drooling are the new punches. I don't think I can wait a whole month to get both of them. The punch for this month is AWESOME - I can't wait to get my grimy little hands on it - but before I do I need to make sure they sent enough for everyone. So, I'm checking the list twice these are my current punch members - if I have left you out pleas email me asap so that I can add you on.

Any other takers???
Okay, the brats are here - got to go feed them - it just means it almost time for bedtime for them and ME time for ME. Oh yeah. If I get a chance I will post what I get done this week - but maybe I won't. Real Scrappin Time is very sparse in this house believe you me.

ave already finished all the whole group lessons for the Read Well Program and we are working on a sea animal theme project. Plus, I placed all my orders for this month - so what's left - me time. No classess this week - my next class actually starts on the 11th so I have a few free days. Dinner is in the oven - life is working out as planned - so what's the problem - nothing and that worries me - usually somethings wrong - someone is doing something they are not supposed to,

Oops...
Yep, whenever you place an order with Prima you have an oops moment. Although I love their stuff (you should see the little ducky), between their ship times and their screwups they always put me in a jam. So, I ordered a backup from Cherryarte just in case and guess what - they screwed up too - kind of. I had a really nice surprise planned and then, they screwed up too. But, I know people - so we came up with a plan C -so although it won't be perfect - FREE goodies (okay free to you not free to me) are FREE goodies.
So, you'd better be ready because I have a heck of a day planned for everyone. I'm so excited. Of course, I still have a thousand things to do in the morning - but we, puerto ricans, live for the parties. We really do. So, I've got some tricks up my sleeve. Plus, since I am home early, I am supposed to have a good nights rest so I should be all peppy and if not I've got chocolate. Really, I have it already - it's sitting on my counter. Oh yeah - chocolate, scrappin, and a party - damn that's good. Plus, I have some awesome ideas in my head for layouts, so I should be able to get some layouts done tonight - especially with our beautiful new flowers from prima - dang cute oh and the rubons from cherryarte oh and the CI felt ribbon and the flamingo from prima is running through my head and the stitched paper oh I need to stop too much info you will just have to wait until tomorrow to see.
The store will open promptly at 9 am. Sorry, I will be in early but I have a few things I need to finish so you will just have to suffer till 9 to get in. I want everything to be perfect. Okay - perfect is impossible - but pretty dang close.
Well, it's time for me to get a crackin on those layouts.
